Hot Honey Burrata
Day 1 of my 8 days of Appetizers and Wine mini-series: Hot honey Burrata with deliciously crispy hot honey butter crostinis! You can use any store-bought hot honey, or check out my easy hot honey recipe!
Pair this with an off-dry German Riesling for a near perfect pairing. The creamy texture of the Burrata is contrasted perfectly by the crisp acidity of the wine, and the hint of sweet in the wine balances out the salt and spice while matching the honey’s sweetness!
My recommendations:
My number one pick: Andreas Bender Dajoar Riesling ( Link for YYC and surrounding area)
Easy to find alternative: Loosen Bros “Dr. L” Riesling
Non-alcoholic alternative: Eins Zwei Zero Rheingau Riesling

The perfect appy to impress your guests! Sweet, spicy, and creamy deliciousness balanced by the cool fresh mint - such a crowd pleaser. Pair this with an off-dry German Riesling for the perfect wine pairing!
Ingredients
Burrata
Honey Butter Crostini
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Thinly slice baguette into 1/2 inch slices.
- Lay out slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread a thin layer of hot honey butter on both sides of each slice.
- Bake for approximately 10 minutes at 400 degrees, flipping half way to evenly toast both sides. Let cool for at least 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, place Burrata in the middle of your serving dish of choice. Slice the Burrata down the middle (without going all the way through) and then slice again in the other direction, creating and 'X'.
- Drizzle generously with hot honey, then sprinkle with chopped pistachios, fresh mint, and sea salt.
- Fan the crostini out around the Burrata and serve with your favourite off-dry Riesling!
